Olympian Astronomy NotebookINDEPENDENT READING EDITION
SCIENCE + SOURCE ARCHIVE

ABOUT THIS READING EDITION

The subject is astronomy.
The context stays visible.

An independent notebook of new physical explanations, alongside a separate historical source collection.

New writing, actual dates

Eight original English essays explain astronomical distances, spectroscopy, star formation, reionization, telescope images, brightness and observing records. Each contains 1000–2300 words of main text and was published on 17 October 2026. Worked examples are illustrative rather than reported observations. No invented author biographies, institutional credentials, research projects or measured datasets are supplied.

The original site’s identity

The original Olympian Centre for Astrophysics site concerned Greek and English scientific outreach, astrophysics and meetings in the Katerini/Pieria context. The source collection preserves what its pages said at their captures. This edition does not claim present affiliation with that centre, the people named in its old pages or their institutions. The later unrelated NCFA/finance mirror is excluded.

The recovery method

The saved inventory contained 448 HTML records, of which 31 belong to the original period before 2020. Excluding 11 oEmbed records, two author indices and robots left 17 meaningful page captures, all retrieved successfully. Six WordPress p aliases returned only PHP plugin warnings and the mailing-list body was empty. The 2015 homepage was salvaged from its verified content.site-content region after the generic article selector missed it. Ten original-site body documents remain: homepage, bilingual scope, two distinct overlapping symposium descriptions, a 2015 event invitation, a 2016 school notice, two Greek public-outreach announcements, a short membership instruction and historical biographies. Original wording is retained as historical source text, not current independently verified findings. Present-tense old affiliations, attendance figures, contacts, prices and invitations remain statements of their captures. Forms, active old links, social controls and media are not reactivated. No portraits, old staff profiles as current staff, event bookings or membership services are recreated. The late unrelated NCFA/finance mirror is excluded. This is a text edition, not complete restoration of every later record or original asset.

Historical dates and limits

HISTORICAL SOURCE — NOT A CURRENT PROGRAMME, STAFF LIST OR INVITATION. Dates and claims in the old wording belong to the saved document. Capture timestamps are not assumed original publication dates. Old affiliations, biographies, participation figures, venue information, prices and contacts are not current findings or active services. This reading edition claims no present institutional affiliation or operation of the historical centre’s events or membership.

Printed time labels are displayed separately without inventing their publication or modification meaning. The Greek time-measurement announcement names 18 December without an explicit year in its retained body; no year is inferred from its later capture. The short 2016 school notice is not a complete curriculum. Two symposium versions overlap but remain distinct captured documents. The historical people page is not a current staff directory.

A text archive, not a revived service

Original photographs, portraits and embedded media are not restored. The new star and spectrum illustration is a schematic, not an observation or a real constellation. Old contact details, prices, invitations and membership instructions are inert historical text. No event registration, mailing list, membership application, active institution or current programme is operated here. Source pages are noindex, have no Article schema and are excluded from the sitemap; new essays carry their actual dates.
